The course will be taught by professors Arianet Valdivia Mesa and Boris Antonio Pérez Vázquez, who form a work duo with skills and knowledge, which they convey through the theoretical and practical teaching of high-quality hand sewing in the design scenario in Cuba.

Valdivia Mesa has done very well in the exercise of the profession of costume design and in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the Higher Institute of Design (ISDI), for 15 years. She is currently researching design for sustainability in the national context, as part of her doctoral thesis in Technical Sciences. She has a degree in Industrial Design in the specialty of Costumes in 2000 and an assistant professor in the Industrial Design career since 2015.

For his part, Professor Boris Antonio Pérez Vázquez has more than thirty years in the artistic sphere and has developed workshops for children, youth, adults and the elderly in order to promote individual entrepreneurship and the revaluation of inherited manual labors to insert them into contemporaneity. He is a professor at the "Quitrín" Handicraft Development Center and a Technical Assistant in the teaching of the specialty of Industrial Design at ISDI.

The design and making of costumes by hand is an art that consists of a series of essential individual skills acquired through many hours of study and dedication that allows the professional to achieve a work of excellence.

By acquiring the necessary knowledge of all sewing techniques the creator uses his imagination and all his art to improve and create a unique and original design.

A very important part of this work is to take advantage yourself during your training of the best tools and quality materials, as well as to follow the instructions to obtain excellent results, that is why teacher training is essential.
