The area that is part of the Historic Center of the city, proclaimed by UNESCO as World Heritage, will be available to visitors this July as the City Historian’s Office schedules tours.

According to González, the rental of spaces and premises of the building for workshops and events is also planned 'always under the sanitary measures and protocols in this stage of recovery from the pandemic in Cuba'.

A must for tourists arriving in the former Village, some 535 km east of Havana, the building was declared a National Monument in 1978, and is admired for its description of the enormous cultural and architectural heritage of the city founded in February 1514.

The Cuban National poet, Nicolás Guillén, born precisely in this town, referred in the Ella magazine, in 1941, to the importance of the architectural complex itself and its remarkable historical value.
