Berlin, (PL).- The cultural project "Cuba Aqui" (Cuba Here) opened at the Cervantes Institute exhibition hall in the northern German city of Bremen, the Embassy of Cuba in Germany said today.
According to a release, the project includes a collective display by young artists from the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, titled "Cuba Aqui, nueva figuracion santiaguera" (Cuba Here, New Santiago Works).
The opening ceremony was presided over by Bremen Education Senator, Professor Eva Quante-Brandt, and artist Thilman Rothelmen, creator of the project.
Libuse Cerna, president of the Council for Integration of the City, Carlos Ortega, director of the Instituto Cervantes of Bremen, and Hector Corcho Morales, official in charge of the cultural affairs at the Cuban embassy in Germany also attended the event.
During the opening, Senator Quante-Brandt thanked the peoples of Cuba and Germany for the cultural exchange, particularly between the cities of Santiago de Cuba and Bremen.
The "Cuba Aqui" project is composed of a series of cultural activities, among them, three exhibitions by young creators from Santiago de Cuba, from the Gregory de la Maya workshop and the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) in Santiago de Cuba, exhibited in different parts of the city.
