Popular Cuban singer-songwriter, David Blanco, again showed his versatility and imaginative power at a concert in Havana over the weekend.
Blanco’s fans packed the Cuban capital’s Karl Marx Theater over the weekend to watch the launching of his album Amigos, which he shares with celebrities, such as the so called “Diva of the Buena Vista Social Club” Project, Omara Portuondo, the Compay Segundo band and his brother Ernesto Blanco.
At a more than two hour concert, which also marked the 20th anniversary of the record label Biss Music, the popular Cuban musician shared the stage with renowned Cuban artists, including 2012 Latin Grammy Award laureate, Eliades Ochoa, the duo Buena Fe, former Los Van Van orchestra singer Pedrito Calvo and Italian tenor Dario Balzanelli.
In the program Blanco reviewed some of his most popular tunes, such as Mueve la pachanga, Botao en Madrid, La evolución, El despechao and La tierra prometida, and played the piano, the guitar, the trumpet and percussion instruments, showing his versatility and virtuosity.
