Texts by Cuban writer Fina Garcia Marruz, winner of the Iberian-American Reina Sofia Poetry Prize (2011), will be presented on Saturday at the 34th edition of the International Book Fair under way in Mexico until Monday.
Cuban poets, like Waldo Leyva, Odette Alonso, Minerva Salado and Margarita Sanchez-Gallinal, will be in charge of reading works by the renowned intellectual, the Prensa Latina news agency reported on Tuesday.
Likewise, the news agency also referred to the tribute paid to Garcia Marruz on Monday by the host country’s people and culture, with the presentation of her volume Obra Poetica, printed by the Letras Cubanas publishing house.
Mayuli Morales, researcher and professor with the Metropolitan Autonomous University in Mexico City, offered the public details on the life and work of Garcia Marruz, winner of the National Literature Prize (1990) and the Federico Garcia Lorca International Poetry Prize of the City of Granada (2011).
