{"id":1084,"date":"2023-07-10T19:23:38","date_gmt":"2023-07-10T23:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/?p=1084"},"modified":"2023-07-10T19:23:43","modified_gmt":"2023-07-10T23:23:43","slug":"prizes-awarded-at-the-ii-diaz-pelaez-abstract-art-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/prizes-awarded-at-the-ii-diaz-pelaez-abstract-art-hall-10072023\/","title":{"rendered":"Prizes awarded at the II D\u00edaz Pel\u00e1ez Abstract Art Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the inauguration of the <strong>II D\u00edaz Pel\u00e1ez Abstract Art Hall<\/strong>, several artists were awarded prizes at the Belkis Ay\u00f3n Gallery of the Experimental Center for Visual Arts, located at 23 y C, in the El Vedado district of the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yonaika Humpierrre, Santiago Kender, Jos\u00e9 Omar Torres and Raidel D\u00edaz made up the jury, chaired by visual artist Jos\u00e9 Miguel P\u00e9rez, that selected the winners of this edition of the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-medium is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/las-malas-formas-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1088\" width=\"256\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/las-malas-formas-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/las-malas-formas-450x600.jpeg 450w, https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/las-malas-formas.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Las malas formas by Jorge Luis Hern\u00e1ndez Pouyu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Jorge Luis Hern\u00e1ndez Pouyu received the first prize for his work <strong>Las malas formas<\/strong>, and Jorge B\u00e1ez Gonz\u00e1lez, Alberto Herrera and Isnel Plana received honorable mentions for their works <strong>Papeles y otros desechos<\/strong>, <strong>Ebb\u00f3<\/strong> and <strong>Calar la piedra<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hermanos Saiz Association gave the honorable mention to Randy Alonso D\u00edaz for his work <strong>A destiempo<\/strong>, and the Provincial Center for Plastic Arts and Design honored Erick Gonz\u00e1lez for his work <strong>Cr\u00f3nicas III<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets and Collage Habana awarded Jorge Luis Hern\u00e1ndez for <strong>Las malas formas<\/strong>, and the National Council of Plastic Arts honored Alejandro Alfonso for his work <strong>Marcas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Abstract Art Hall pays tribute to the 35th anniversary of the death of Jos\u00e9 Antonio D\u00edaz Pel\u00e1ez, one of the most outstanding bastions of sculptural abstractionism in Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second edition of this event, sponsored by the Plaza de la Revoluci\u00f3n Cultural Department, will be open to the public at the Experimental Center for Visual Arts until the end of August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
