The Office of the Historian of the City of Havana (OHCH) will dedicate its first cultural program in 2024 to Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed. This will be in celebration of the national hero’s 171st anniversary of his birth. The OHCH has been working for several decades to reconstruct the city where the young Mart\u00ed lived centuries ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Havana, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed is commemorated throughout the year, but every 28 January, his birthday, is a special date. Activities will include the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Day at the Birthplace Museum, which will be inaugurated on the 12th with a performance by the National Concert Band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the afternoon, there will be a meeting called \u00abSembrar ideas, sembrar conciencia\u00bb as part of the program against cultural colonization. It will involve young people from the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Cultural Association, Havana and the Mart\u00ed’s Youth Movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, the audiovisual film \u00abEl sentido de la descolonizaci\u00f3n de la pol\u00edtica cultural cubana\u00bb will be screened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eusebio Leal, a real follower of Jose Mart\u00ed and an experienced interpreter of the codes that define and mobilize Cuban identity, is one of the passionate historians and researchers from a wide variety of disciplines who have studied the human dimension of the Apostle’s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
