Moreover, this album represents the first in Cuban music history dedicated to the instrument in all its dimensions and mastery, highlighting its fundamental role in both national and international music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CD features a quintet of highly skilled trombonists demonstrating their talent: Cubans Amaury P\u00e9rez, Yoandy Argud\u00edn, Jorge Ernesto Ortega, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Hidalgo, and Venezuelan \u00c1ngel Subero, among the world&#8217;s top five, a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other significant performers joined the album, including pianists Alejandro Falc\u00f3n and Rolando Luna, Abdel Gonz\u00e1lez on Cuban percussion, Frank Rubio on bass, and Mandy Cantero, vocalist of Van Van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"796\" height=\"622\" src=\"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/portada-tromboneando.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2535\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/portada-tromboneando.jpg 796w, https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/portada-tromboneando-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/portada-tromboneando-768x600.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 796px) 100vw, 796px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Freshness and originality characterize the repertoire of this album, created by the renowned master director of the Buena Vista Social Club, featuring works that highlight the technical and performing possibilities of the instrument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The album presents twelve tracks, six of which are originals for the occasion, at the request of the extraordinary Venezuelan trombonist Subero: \u00abCerro Negro,\u00bb \u00abTromboneando,\u00bb \u00abIronic Waltz of Coin,\u00bb \u00abThree Guajiros,\u00bb \u00abMidnight Danz\u00f3n,\u00bb and \u00abDoric Bolero.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, it includes quintet versions of Cuban music classics: \u00abSon de la Loma\u00bb by Miguel Matamoros, \u00abCanci\u00f3n\u00bb by C\u00e9sar Portillo de la Luz, \u00abMar\u00eda Caracoles\u00bb by Pello el Afrok\u00e1n, \u00abRumba de Caj\u00f3n\u00bb by Juan Pablo Torres, and \u00abS\u00e1banas Blancas\u00bb by Gerardo Alfonso. These reinterpretations uniquely blend elements of both academic and popular Cuban music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CD also features a making-of documentary by the renowned filmmaker Alexis Oliva, providing insights into the recording sessions of the album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab<strong>Tromboneando con Demetrio Mu\u00f1iz<\/strong>\u00bb will be available on digital platforms on March 31st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
