This show is very personal to me and I look forward to sharing it with the audience,\u00bb expresses the artist, who has been honored with the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 19 and 20, he will dance with Laura Rodriguez, a member of Acosta Danza, a company founded 9 years ago by the 2011 National Dance Award winner, in this extraordinary work, which will be enjoyed for the first time in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab<strong>On Before<\/strong> is one of the most important shows I have created and danced, and I am thrilled to bring it to Sarasota,\u00bb says Acosta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The relationship between a man and a woman marked by failure is the theme of <strong>On Before<\/strong>, which features a diverse musical repertoire ranging from Georg Friedrich H\u00e4ndel to music specially created by Cuban violinist and composer Omar Puente, and culminates in an emotional and vibrant way with a live performance of <strong>O Magnum Mysterium<\/strong> by American composer Morten Lauridsen, one of the most recognized and performed choral works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Before<\/strong> represents Acosta&#8217;s admirable vision of dance and pays tribute to his late mother. It also showcases collaborations with leading British and international dance makers: Russell Maliphant, Kim Brandstrup, Will Tuckett, Raul Reinoso, Yury Yanowsky, Miguel Altunaga, as well as his own choreography.
