El Patrimonio de la Humanidad en Cuba<\/strong>, an important book for its significance in the field of Cuban heritage, has had a new presentation in the city of Cienfuegos by one of its managers, the renowned artist Julio Larramendi Joa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event took place on the occasion of the 205th<\/sup> anniversary of the beautiful southern city, during a meeting with representatives of the Association Cuba Cooperation France and specialists from the Network of Cuban Heritage Cities, in the Teresita Chepe Hall of the Joseph Tantete Dubruiller School of Restoration Crafts, attached to the Office of the Cienfuegos City Conservator, according to a publication by the journalist Roberto Alfonso Lara on 5th September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The editorial director of Ediciones Polymita said that the material was the result of five years’ work and was a journey through ‘those fourteen treasures of our built, natural and intangible heritage that have received the highest recognition from Unesco’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larramendi Joa commented that the chapters of the book depict the main values of the Cuban sites and expressions that have been declared World Heritage Sites, as well as information on how to take care of each of them in order to maintain their status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also emphasised that the book contains information on the proposals that Cuba has submitted to the Unesco Committee and that are currently in the universal selection process. It is a collective work and therefore has no authors. It is made for Cuba and by Cubans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these words he confirmed the performance of Ediciones Polymita, a publishing house with more than fifty titles, such as Cienfuegos, la Perla de Cuba<\/strong>, which was published five years ago as part of the city’s bicentenary celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Patrimonio de la Humanidad en Cuba<\/strong> was recently presented at the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed National Library, during the national event for the International Day of Monuments and Sites, as part of the presentation of the National Prizes for Restoration and Conservation, sponsored by the National Council for Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And where the president of the National Council for Cultural Heritage, Sonia Virgen P\u00e9rez Mojena, thanked the artist Julio Larramendi Joa for his many years of dedication to the promotion of Cuba’s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
