An event in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and Africa Day continues until May 31 at the venue dedicated to the continent in Old Havana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event offers a varied program of workshops, exhibitions, regular spaces for children and the traditional Cheket\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, May 11, the Casa de \u00c1frica hosted the third day of the Afro-feminist Articulation group, and on May 21, the Jos\u00e9 Luciano Franco Workshop Room will dedicate its space to the centennial of Am\u00edlcar Cabral’s birth, in coordination with the Cuban-African Friendship Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event is organized by Casa de \u00c1frica, the aforementioned organization, and the Havana branch of the Association of Cuban Revolutionary Fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Africa Day is celebrated on May 25th, a date established with the aim of raising awareness of the current needs of the countries of the African continent. It also aims to celebrate all socio-economic progress, including their liberation from colonialism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
