Apuntes hist\u00f3ricos<\/strong>, published by Ediciones Bolo\u00f1a. Magda Resik, OHCH&#8217;s Communications Director, will introduce the book.<\/p>\n<p>The book, edited by Marjorie Peregr\u00edn with notes by Yamira Rodr\u00edguez Marcano, features design by Gretel Ruiz Calder\u00f3n Gonz\u00e1lez and was printed by Egondi Artes Gr\u00e1ficas.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, an exhibition of publications and documents showcasing Roig&#8217;s judgments, assessments, and campaigns in favor of Cuban women will be inaugurated, organized by the Patrimonial Asset Department.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition reflects the democratic and progressive thinking of Havana&#8217;s first historian, evident in correspondence, publications, reviews, social chronicles, and articles that highlight his practical actions.<\/p>\n<p>Roig introduced historical, judicial, cultural, customary, and educational reflections and criticism, emphasizing their societal value and denouncing injustices.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit will feature excerpts from his publications in <strong>Gr\u00e1fico, Social, Carteles, Vanidades, El Mundo, <\/strong>and<strong> Diario de la Marina<\/strong>, as well as prologues dedicated to women&#8217;s publications.<\/p>\n<p>His stance, which dignified women and their role in national history, is considered highly valuable. Roig addressed pressing social issues and opened doors for female avant-garde figures in magazines like Social, featuring personalities such as Mariblanca Salas Alom\u00e1, Ofelia Rodr\u00edguez Acosta, Mar\u00eda Villar Buceta, and Leonor Barranqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>In his work, Roig surrounded himself with women whom he treated as equals, including his wife and collaborator Mar\u00eda Ben\u00edtez and historian and journalist Raquel Catal\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
