A sculpture of Cuba’s National Hero, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed, was unveiled at the Havana Branch of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Cultural Society. The artwork serves as a tribute to the upcoming 98th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, to be commemorated on August 13.<\/p>\n

The life-size sculpture, created by Antonio Le\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez, was presented by Yusuam Palacios Ortega, President of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Cultural Society in Havana.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by members of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed clubs of Havana, the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Youth Movement, workers from the Union of Historians, the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), the Ministry of Energy and Mines, among others.<\/p>\n

Local artists performed the first Cuban romantic song, \u00abLa Bayamesa,\u00bb along with other well-known Cuban compositions.<\/p>\n

Finally, attendees toured the gallery, where an exhibition dedicated to Fidel Castro, titled Chronicle of Victory, is on display.<\/p>\n
