{"id":3377,"date":"2024-09-17T08:49:39","date_gmt":"2024-09-17T12:49:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/?p=3377"},"modified":"2024-09-16T17:50:23","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T21:50:23","slug":"cuban-symphony-orchestra-begins-season-and-celebrates-its-65th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/cuban-symphony-orchestra-begins-season-and-celebrates-its-65th-anniversary-17092024\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuban Symphony Orchestra Begins Season and Celebrates Its 65th Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba announces the start of its 2024-2025 season with a concert featuring Cuban music, celebrating the 65th anniversary of its founding at the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater of Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>This special presentation by the country&#8217;s leading symphonic ensemble will take place on Sunday, September 22, at 11:00 a.m., as reported by the Cuban Institute of Music.<\/p>\n<p>The selected repertoire includes works by composers Jorge L\u00f3pez Mar\u00edn, Amadeo Rold\u00e1n, Alejandro Garc\u00eda Caturla, and Gonzalo Roig, featuring soprano Milagros de los \u00c1ngeles and tenor Bernardo Lichil\u00edn as soloists, with Maestro Igor Ernesto Corcuera C\u00e1ceres conducting, who was recently appointed as the deputy director of the institution.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing the symphonic tradition initiated in 1910 by Guillermo Tom\u00e1s and the Havana Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, conducted by Gonzalo Roig and Pedro Sanju\u00e1n, respectively, the National Symphony Orchestra was founded on October 7, 1959, and gave its first concert on November 11, 1960, under the baton of maestros Enrique Gonz\u00e1lez M\u00e1ntici and Manuel Duchesne Cuz\u00e1n.
