Entry to the event will be completely free for all attendees.

«Philatelic collecting in Cuba dates back to 1892, when the magazine *El Curioso Americano* published occasional information about the postage stamps of the time and the independent collectors who owned them,» says Professor Juan Hernández Machado, who won the National Philately Award in 2012.

After numerous attempts and the formation of several related associations—one of which was officially established before the Republic emerged—the Cuban Philatelic Club was founded in 1910, becoming the most enduring philatelic organization. Finally, in November 1964, the Cuban Philatelic Federation was officially constituted, supported by the Revolutionary Government’s aim to make key cultural expressions, including philately, accessible to the public.

The Postal Museum of Cuba, named after José Luís Guerra Aguiar and open since January 2, 1965, reflects this cultural initiative. It was created to preserve Cuba’s traditions and heritage in philatelic collecting and postal history.

Located on the ground floor of the Ministry of Communications building at the northeast corner of José Martí Revolution Square in Havana, the museum welcomes you to enjoy this special philatelic exhibition.

Translated by Luis E.
