A new edition of one of Latin America\u2019s most celebrated art events is on the horizon: the 15th Havana Biennial. From November 15, 2024, to February 28, 2025, Cuba\u2019s capital will become a dynamic meeting point for artists, curators, and the public, celebrating 40 years of the Biennial\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
Under the theme Horizontes Compartidos, this edition calls for a deep reflection on the Biennial\u2019s past, present, and future while establishing new networks for collaboration and dialogue. Convened by the Wifredo Lam Center for Contemporary Art, in conjunction with the National Council of Visual Arts and the Ministry of Culture, the Biennial is envisioned as a space for respectful exchange, where diverse forms of knowledge and ways of existing outside dominant paradigms are valued.<\/p>\n
The curatorial team has prioritized artistic projects that foster collaboration, transdisciplinary engagement, and community mediation. The aim is for art to transcend traditional spaces, integrating into the daily lives of the island\u2019s residents and sparking collective dialogue and reflection.<\/p>\n
The Biennial\u2019s conceptual platform invites us to \u201cwalk together, to share the horizon, and to experience the joys and challenges of this journey in pursuit of a utopia that, although it may seem unreachable, inspires us to become a little better and less selfish each day.\u201d<\/p>\n
