The company will present <strong>La danza espa\u00f1ola en concierto<\/strong>, a gala of styles, on February 14 and 15 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 16, at 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>After a year filled with challenges and, above all, successes\u2014highlighted by its second tour of the People&#8217;s Republic of China, where Cuba\u2019s name shone brightly with performances in 22 cities across 12 provinces over two months\u2014the company returns to its emblematic venue in Plaza de la Revoluci\u00f3n. This gala places Spanish heritage at the forefront, an intrinsic part of Cuban national identity.<\/p>\n<p>The program features pieces such as <strong>La boda<\/strong> de Luis Alonso and <strong>Danza ritual del fuego<\/strong>, choreographed by Eduardo Veit\u00eda; <strong>Pasi\u00f3n (Martinete),<\/strong> <strong>A\u00f1oranza (Balada flamenca<\/strong>)\u2014a tribute to his mentor Aurora Bosh\u2014<strong>Arte y tron\u00edo (Caracoles),<\/strong> all by Francis N\u00fa\u00f1ez (Spain); <strong>Sole\u00e1 <\/strong>by Pablo Egea (Spain); <strong>Fandango<\/strong> by Liliana Fagoaga; <strong>Alhambra<\/strong> by Manuel D\u00edaz (Spain); <strong>Andaluc\u00eda <\/strong>and <strong>Malague\u00f1a<\/strong> by Leslie Ung; as well as <strong>Fiesta por buler\u00edas<\/strong>, which will close the performance.<\/p>\n<p>Principal dancers Leslie Ung and Daniel Mart\u00ednez, along with featured performers Kelly \u00c1lvarez and N\u00e1yara Calder\u00f3n, will take center stage alongside the company\u2019s ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>Spanish dance will take the spotlight in a concert that vividly showcases flamenco\u2019s influence on Cuba\u2019s own rhythms, as well as the strong percussive foundation that defines the music and dance of the Caribbean\u2019s largest archipelago, according to information provided by journalist Toni Pi\u00f1era to Radio Enciclopedia.<\/p>\n<p>This is the brilliance of Spanish heritage, brought to life by a company that has captivated Cuban audiences\u2014and many beyond\u2014through performances that embody the essence of national identity.<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
