The club aims to unite individuals interested in studying and promoting the legacy of Cuba\u2019s national hero, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>This grassroots organization, affiliated with the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Cultural Society, was inaugurated during the event\u00a0<em>titled El elogio oportuno<\/em>, hosted by journalist and literary critic Fernando Rodr\u00edguez Sosa. The gathering featured writers Laidi Fern\u00e1ndez de Juan, Olga Marta P\u00e9rez, and Arturo Arango, who discussed various aspects of the life and work of this distinguished Cuban intellectual.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees received copies of <em><strong>Todo Caliban<\/strong><\/em>, a seminal work by Roberto Fern\u00e1ndez Retamar, published by Ocean Sur. They also listened to recordings of poems read by the author himself, who was awarded Cuba\u2019s National Literature Prize in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>The Mart\u00ed Club\u2014based at the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore and the Cuban Book Institute, and co-sponsored by the Economic Society of Friends of the Country\u2014will play a vital role in advancing the mission and objectives of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Cultural Society.
