The event will take place in Havana from May 13 to 15, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s edition will commemorate the centennial of <strong>Fidel Castro Ruz\u2019s birth<\/strong>, the 95th anniversary of the publication of Nicol\u00e1s Guill\u00e9n\u2019s landmark poetry collection <em>S\u00f3ngoro Cosongo<\/em>, the 90th anniversary of <strong>Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca\u2019s assassination<\/strong>, and the outbreak of the <strong>Spanish Civil War<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made during a press conference by <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Hern\u00e1ndez Guill\u00e9n<\/strong>, president of the <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Guill\u00e9n Foundation<\/strong>, which organizes the event in collaboration with the <strong>Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The colloquium will feature a wide-ranging academic program alongside cultural activities. A highlight will be the exploration of <strong>Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca\u2019s legacy<\/strong> in poetry and the performing arts, as well as his deep connection to Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>The call for participation also includes themes such as reflections on the Spanish Civil War through literature and exile; the cultural impact of <em>S\u00f3ngoro Cosongo<\/em> on Cuban national identity; and a centennial look at Fidel Castro\u2019s influence on Cuban and Latin American culture.<\/p>\n<p>One of the colloquium\u2019s key goals is to bring lectures, panel discussions, book presentations, exhibitions, concerts, and poetry readings closer to younger audiences, fostering greater engagement and dialogue among participants.<\/p>\n<p>Renowned intellectuals, artists, and scholars from both Cuban and international institutions have been invited to take part in the gathering.<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
