Located on Calle Obispo in Old Havana, the bookstore attracts a large audience each month, eager to meet authors, discuss intriguing topics, and participate in meaningful dialogues with writers and artists.<\/p>\n<p>This Wednesday, the focus will be on the book<strong> Vengo de todas partes<\/strong> by Edilberto Rodr\u00edguez Tamayo, published by Ediciones En Vivo, an imprint of Cuban Radio and Television. The presentation will include the publisher\u2019s director, Norma G\u00e1lvez, and the author himself, a poet and storyteller from Holgu\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>The event will celebrate this tribute volume dedicated to two local media outlets in Holgu\u00edn: the radio station La Voz del N\u00edquel and the television channel Moa TV. <strong>Vengo de todas partes<\/strong>\u00a0features a selection of scripts written by Rodr\u00edguez Tamayo for these outlets, along with texts originally published on social media that were later adapted for radio and television, according to a press release from the Cuban Book Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Fidel Troya Garc\u00eda, president of the Cuban Journalists\u2019 Union in eastern Cuba, remarked, <em>Vengo de todas partes<\/em> is a compelling work, both in structure and subject matter. Its title evokes Mart\u00ed and his vision of human betterment\u2014an ideal that, in my view, permeates each chapter of the book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A veteran of Cuban radio since the 1990s, Rodr\u00edguez Tamayo has served as an announcer, scriptwriter, and program director. His work has earned more than 30 awards at both provincial and national levels. Participants will include H\u00e9ctor Hern\u00e1ndez Pardo, Deputy Director of the Office of the Mart\u00ed Program and Coordinator of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Project of International Solidarity, who worked closely with Hart, along with Yasel Toledo, President of the Hermanos Sa\u00edz Association, which represents Cuba\u2019s young artistic and literary vanguard.<\/p>\n<p>The evening will also feature musical performances of Cuban compositions by tenor Bernardo Lichil\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>A staunch opponent of the Batista dictatorship and a member of the July 26 Movement, Armando Hart D\u00e1valos (Havana, 1930\u20132017) held significant political and cultural positions after the 1959 revolution, including Minister of Education and Culture, Director of the Office of the Mart\u00ed Program, and President of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Cultural Society.<\/p>\n<p>This event is organized by the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore in collaboration with the Roberto Fern\u00e1ndez Retamar Mart\u00ed Club and the Culture and Social Sciences sections of the Economic Society of Friends of the Country.<\/p>\n<p><em>El elogio oportuno<\/em>\u2014which aims to honor writers, books, historical events, and institutions marking milestone anniversaries\u2014takes its name from a famous aphorism by Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed: \u201cTimely praise encourages merit; the lack of it discourages,\u201d published in <em>Patria<\/em> in April 1892.<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
