The lending room of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed National Library will be the venue for the presentation of the book Experiencias filat\u00e9licas y otras gratas impresiones en la tierra de los paisas<\/strong> by Juan Hern\u00e1ndez Machado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The event, which will take place on Thursday February 9 at 10:00 am, is open to anyone interested in bringing a digital device to make a free copy of the book, which will be presented in PDF format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Among the contents of Experiencias filat\u00e9licas<\/strong>… are the existing relations between Cuban and Colombian philatelists; an explanation of the so-called \u00abtierra de los paisas\u00bb, which covers the territory of present-day Antioquia; the postal history of this Andean and Caribbean region, its relations of solidarity and with the history of Cuba, and more interesting questions about its culture and sports, among other interesting topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The material will be presented on the same day as the opening of the 31st<\/sup> Havana International Book Fair<\/strong>, where Colombia is the guest of honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hern\u00e1ndez Machado is the winner of the 2012 National Philatelic Prize and a member of the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists and the National Union of Historians of Cuba.
