{"id":4378,"date":"2025-09-03T18:09:04","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T22:09:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/?p=4378"},"modified":"2025-09-03T18:12:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T22:12:13","slug":"acosta-danza-presents-una-decada-en-movimiento","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/acosta-danza-presents-una-decada-en-movimiento-03092025\/","title":{"rendered":"Acosta Danza Presents Una d\u00e9cada en movimiento"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Acosta Danza, under the general direction of principal dancer Carlos Acosta, will present the season <em><strong>Una d\u00e9cada en movimiento<\/strong><\/em> at the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba on September 5, 6, and 7, as part of celebrations marking its first ten years.<\/p>\n<p>The program features the Cuban premiere of <em><strong>98 d\u00edas<\/strong><\/em> by Spanish-Venezuelan choreographer Javier de Frutos, a work inspired by the period the Spanish poet Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca spent in the Caribbean nation, as well as the premiere of <em><strong>La ecuaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/em>, one of the most significant and acclaimed pieces by Cuban choreographer Georges C\u00e9spedes, according to Lester Vila, the company\u2019s press director.<\/p>\n<p>The season will also include the restaging of <em><strong>Llamada<\/strong><\/em> by Spanish choreographer Goyo Montero and <em><strong>De punta a cabo<\/strong><\/em> by Yaday Ponce, based on the original work by Alexis Fern\u00e1ndez\u2014a production nominated for the United Kingdom\u2019s prestigious Laurence Olivier Award (2022) for performing arts.<\/p>\n<p>Among the highlights of this anniversary season is the presentation of a fully renewed ensemble, composed entirely of young artists who graduated from the company\u2019s academy, Vila noted.<\/p>\n<p>Since its founding on September 28, 2015, Acosta Danza has aimed to produce dance performances fully aligned with the most current developments in the field, not only in movement but also in all aspects of stagecraft.<\/p>\n<p>The company has established itself as a space for renewal, exploration, and experimentation for Cuban artists, while also opening its doors to creators from around the world, including choreographers, musicians, designers, and visual artists.<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
