The 8th edition of the Encuentro de Cantoras Ella y Yo will return to Havana, honoring two leading figures in Cuba\u2019s singer-songwriter tradition: musicians Marta Vald\u00e9s and Eduardo Sosa.<\/p>\n
From September 10 to 14, the city will be filled with the sounds of Cuban singer-songwriter music, featuring performances not only from local artists but also from emerging talents hailing from Spain, Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile.<\/p>\n
The main concert will take place at the National Museum of Fine Arts Theater, with additional performances hosted at other venues, including the National Museum of Music, the Cuban Writers and Artists Union, and the Fresa y Chocolate Cultural Center.<\/p>\n
A special program at L\u00ednea and L Park will provide children with their own space within this celebration of women\u2019s voices.<\/p>\n
The event will also include a theoretical component, featuring the screening of Soberana del tiempo<\/strong>, a documentary by Juan Carlos Travieso and Ra\u00fal Nogu\u00e9s dedicated to Marta Vald\u00e9s, who passed away last year. Talks highlighting her legacy as a teacher will also take place.<\/p>\n Tribute will be paid to Eduardo Sosa, the distinguished troubadour from Santiago de Cuba who passed away this past February.
