The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 16, at 9:00 p.m.\u2014coinciding with the traditional cannon shot\u2014at the Plaza de Armas in the city\u2019s historic center.<\/p>\n<p>Curated for this special occasion, the program will showcase works by Cuban composers drawn from the orchestra\u2019s celebrated repertoire and performed under the baton of principal conductor Maestro Igor Corcuera C\u00e1ceres. The evening will open with <strong>Preg\u00f3n y Danza<\/strong> by Maestro Enrique Gonz\u00e1lez Mantici, one of the orchestra\u2019s founding members, followed by Jos\u00e9 White\u2019s <strong>La Bella Cubana<\/strong>. The program continues with <strong>Gran Contradanza<\/strong> and <strong>Marcha Habana<\/strong> from the renowned zarzuela <strong>Cecilia Vald\u00e9s<\/strong> by Gonzalo Roig, concluding with <strong>Fiesta Negra<\/strong> from <strong>Tres Peque\u00f1os Poemas<\/strong> by Amadeo Rold\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>Founded on October 7, 1959, by Law 590, the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba was envisioned as a vehicle for promoting both national and international music. As the heir to a rich symphonic tradition initiated by some of Cuba\u2019s greatest musicians, the orchestra stands as a cornerstone of Cuban culture.
