The event will take place from March 23 to 28 in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming event\u2014<strong>Dominican Dance Intensive 2026<\/strong>\u2014aims to enhance the artistic skills and knowledge of children as young as six, as well as youth, whether they are dance enthusiasts or professionals. The program will offer classes at Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release, all classes will be held at the Ballet Cl\u00e1sico Santiago headquarters in the Dominican Republic. Participants can look forward to instruction in Ballet, Fusion Dance, Flamenco, Cuban Popular Dances, Afro-Cuban Dances, Urban Dance, and Contemporary Dance.<\/p>\n<p>The faculty for <strong>Dominican Dance Intensive 2026<\/strong> will conclude the program with a Gala Showcase, offering students an opportunity to perform on stage and demonstrate what they have learned. The performance will celebrate dance as a medium for sharing knowledge, emotions, affection, peace, harmony, health, and enjoyment.<\/p>\n<p>Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba is renowned for its distinctive Fusion style. The school was recognized as the world\u2019s best \u201cextracurricular\u201d activity in 2016. That same year, director Lizt Alfonso and her team received the Spotlight Award from the U.S. President&#8217;s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, presented at the White House by then\u2013First Lady Michelle Obama.<\/p>\n<p>Norma Garc\u00eda\u2019s distinguished career includes performing with the Cuban National Ballet, the National Lyric Theater of Cuba, and the Camag\u00fcey Ballet. She has held leadership roles with the Cuban Television Ballet and has directed international shows for companies such as Tropicana de Cuba. Garc\u00eda also headed the Ballet Department at Cuba\u2019s University of the Arts and has received numerous awards for her professional and choreographic work. In the Dominican Republic, she founded the Ballet Department at the Institute of Culture and Art in Santiago de los Caballeros, which she directed until 1996 before opening her own academy.
