Members of the Criticism and Research Section of the Performing Artists Association of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) have completed their assessment of theater and dance productions staged in Cuba throughout 2025 and announced the winners of the Villanueva Critics\u2019 Awards.<\/p>\n
In the national category, the awards went to the following productions:\u00a0Faro<\/em>, by Teatro Andante;\u00a0Un rastro en las estrellas<\/em><\/strong>, by Teatro de las Estaciones;\u00a0Actea<\/em><\/strong>, by the Lyceum Mozartiano of Havana;\u00a0Eclipse<\/em><\/strong>, by Danza Espiral; and\u00a0El nombre de Juana<\/em><\/strong>, by La Nave Creative Community in collaboration with the project\u00a0Mujeres, fuente de inspiraci\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n In the international category, the jury selected Core Meu<\/em><\/strong>, by the Ballet de Montecarlo, and Gaia 2.0<\/em><\/strong>, by the French company Bakhus.<\/p>\n A Special Recognition was awarded to\u00a0Un domingo llamado deseo<\/em><\/strong>, a production by the Trotamundo Project and Teatro El P\u00fablico, starring National Theater Award laureates Ver\u00f3nica Lynn and Carlos P\u00e9rez Pe\u00f1a.<\/p>\n As is tradition, the official awards ceremony will be held on January 21 at UNEAC, as part of the Villanueva Theater Festival.<\/p>\n Actea, stage production.
