With the presentation of the book El Libro del Turquino<\/strong> by Antonio N\u00fa\u00f1ez Jim\u00e9nez, the Casa del Alba Cultural in Havana inaugurated its activities as the venue for the 31st<\/sup> International Book Fair 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The text is a tribute to the work of the famous Cuban archaeologist and revolutionary, and is part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of his birth on April 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Rosario Esteban, editor of N\u00fa\u00f1ez’s writings, this book is imbued with Cuban nature and represents one of the most beautiful and sensitive examples of his literary production. \u00abThere is no other book like this that describes the silhouette of the proud Turquino, so symmetrical, so regular,\u00bb she added.<\/p>\n\n\n

This book is published by Editorial Cient\u00edfico-T\u00e9cnica in collaboration with the Antonio N\u00fa\u00f1ez Jim\u00e9nez Foundation for Nature and Man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the launch, professor and researcher Manuel Rivero said that Jim\u00e9nez’s work was crucial to the development of speleology in Cuba, highlighting its importance for the training of new generations and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geographer \u00c1ngel Gra\u00f1a Gonz\u00e1lez, for his part, shared some of his experiences of working with the man considered the fourth discoverer of Cuba, highlighting the treatment of people in the work presented at the event, which has enriched the studies of the Cuban Speleological Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
