The session will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at 11:00 a.m., at the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore, located at Obispo 261, entre Cuba y Aguiar, in Havana\u2019s Historic Center.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase the poetry collection *No vengo a hablar del porvenir\u00a0*by Waldo Leyva, published by Editorial Letras Cubanas.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate in acting and theatrical directing, Waldo Leyva is the author of an extensive body of poetry, including\u00a0<em>De la ciudad y sus h\u00e9roes<\/em>, <em>Con mucha piel de gente<\/em>, <em>El polvo de los caminos<\/em>, <em>Remoto adagio<\/em>, and <em>Asonancia del tiempo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Among other distinctions, he received the Poetry Prize at the Uvero 1974 Competition and the 10th Casa de Am\u00e9rica Prize for American Poetry in 2010, awarded in Granada.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Remates de Ariosa, Remedios, in 1943, Leyva has founded and directed cultural magazines\u2014including <em>Del Caribe<\/em> and <em>Letras Cubanas<\/em>\u2014worked as a university professor, and served in Cuba\u2019s diplomatic corps.<\/p>\n<p><em>El jubileo de Letras Cubanas<\/em> is a monthly event held at the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore and sponsored by Editorial Letras Cubanas. Launched in September 2022, the series aims to celebrate the birthdays of authors featured in the publishing house\u2019s catalogue.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past nearly four years, the program has welcomed writers such as Roberto M\u00e9ndez Mart\u00ednez, Ignacio D\u00edaz Gonz\u00e1lez, Mario Naito L\u00f3pez, Leymen P\u00e9rez, Pedro P\u00e9rez Rivero, Mario Brito Fuentes, Rodolfo Alp\u00edzar Castillo, Ernesto Garc\u00eda Alfonso, L\u00e1zaro Castillo, Rodolfo Zamora Rielo, Eduardo del Llano, Jes\u00fas Sama Pacheco, Pavel Mustelier Zamora, Mar\u00eda Elena Llana, Jos\u00e9 Miguel S\u00e1nchez G\u00f3mez (Yoss), Carmen Serrano Coello, Ricardo Alberto P\u00e9rez, Lourdes de Armas, Zaida Capote Cruz, \u00c1ngel P\u00e9rez, Francisca L\u00f3pez Civeira, Olavo Al\u00e9n Rodr\u00edguez, Basilia Papastamat\u00edu, Alberto Marrero Fern\u00e1ndez, Emmanuel Torn\u00e9s Reyes, Marta Lesmes, Carina Pino Santos, Nancy Morej\u00f3n, Roberto Manzano, Virgilio L\u00f3pez Lemus, Jes\u00fas Lozada Guevara, Alberto Guerra Naranjo, Tomasa Gonz\u00e1lez P\u00e9rez, and Denia Garc\u00eda Ronda.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Communications Department of the Cuban Book Institute<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
