In tribute to Cuban writer Excilia Salda\u00f1a and with the aim of fostering the creation of literary works for children and young people, the Hermanos Sa\u00edz Association (AHS) has opened applications for the La Noche<\/em> Creative Fellowship in the narrative category.<\/p>\n

According to a post published on Facebook, the fellowship is open to all Cuban writers residing in the country, whether or not they are AHS members, provided they are 35 years old or younger and have not received the award in any of the previous three editions.<\/p>\n

Applicants may submit one book project in children’s or young adult fiction. Each proposal must include the title, objectives, rationale, and work schedule, along with an unpublished excerpt of the manuscript between 15 and 20 pages in length.<\/p>\n

Submissions must be sent by October 31, 2026, to becasypremiosahs@gmail.com<\/a><\/u>, with \u00abBeca La Noche\u00bb in the subject line. Applicants should attach the manuscript in Word format under a pseudonym (PDF files will not be accepted), together with a separate document containing their personal information.<\/p>\n

The fellowship includes a certificate, a monthly stipend of 3,000 CUP for six months, and mentorship from a member of the jury.<\/p>\n

The results will be announced in December 2026 during a public ceremony at Pabell\u00f3n Cuba, the national headquarters of the AHS.<\/p>\n

Recipients must submit the completed manuscript to the AHS National Directorate within 12 months of receiving the first fellowship payment. The work will then be evaluated by specialist readers from one of the organization’s publishing imprints for potential publication.<\/p>\n
