{"id":5327,"date":"2026-09-24T08:18:59","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T12:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/?p=5327"},"modified":"2026-09-21T18:24:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T22:24:42","slug":"book-a-la-carte-with-poet-and-cultural-promoter-soleida-rios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/book-a-la-carte-with-poet-and-cultural-promoter-soleida-rios-24092026\/","title":{"rendered":"Book \u00e0 la Carte with Poet and Cultural Promoter Soleida R\u00edos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Poet and cultural promoter Soleida R\u00edos will be the guest of <em>Book \u00e0 la Carte<\/em>, a cultural program hosted by journalist and literary critic Fernando Rodr\u00edguez Sosa, which will take place on Thursday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore, in Havana\u2019s Historic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature actress and oral storyteller Nubelia Leyva, who will present a text by Soleida R\u00edos.<\/p>\n<p>The author of an extensive body of work, Soleida R\u00edos\u2019s bibliography includes, among other titles, <em>El libro roto<\/em>, <em>Libro cero<\/em>, <em>Escritos al rev\u00e9s<\/em>, <em>Estr\u00edas<\/em>, and <em>El libro de los sue\u00f1os<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the distinctions she has received are the Raz\u00f3n de Ser Award, the Nicol\u00e1s Guill\u00e9n Poetry Award, and the Literary Criticism Award.<\/p>\n<p>A 1979 graduate of the University of Oriente, where she earned a Higher Teaching Degree in History, Soleida R\u00edos (Santiago de Cuba, 1950) has organized and promoted a variety of cultural initiatives, including the Caf\u00e9 Dulce and Caf\u00e9 Bar Emiliana programs.<\/p>\n<p>Her writings have appeared in anthologies and periodicals both in Cuba and abroad and have been translated into English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.<\/p>\n<p><em>Book \u00e0 la Carte<\/em> is a monthly program sponsored by the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore, Letras Cubanas Publishing House, and the Roberto Fern\u00e1ndez Retamar Mart\u00ed Club. Rodr\u00edguez Sosa created the program in 2000 at the Fayad Jam\u00eds Bookstore with the aim of fostering dialogue with Cuban writers, whose works contribute to the enrichment of contemporary Cuban literature.<\/p>\n<p>Translated by Luis E.
