{"id":894,"date":"2023-05-18T09:12:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T13:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/?p=894"},"modified":"2023-05-17T20:19:05","modified_gmt":"2023-05-18T00:19:05","slug":"lopez-nussas-la-academia-returns-to-the-theater-of-fine-arts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioenciclopedia.cu\/cultural-news\/lopez-nussas-la-academia-returns-to-the-theater-of-fine-arts-18052023\/","title":{"rendered":"L\u00f3pez-Nussa&#8217;s La Academia returns to the Theater of Fine Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renowned percussionist Ruy L\u00f3pez-Nussa and his group <strong>La Academia<\/strong> return to the Theater of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana this Saturday, May 20, where he will premiere several compositions that will become part of the group&#8217;s wide and varied repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will be joined by renowned pianist, composer and arranger Alejandro Falc\u00f3n, and will share the stage for the first time with Zule Guerra, a versatile composer and NuJazz vocalist who holds a Master&#8217;s Degree in Music Performance and Production from Berklee College of Music in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La Academia<\/strong> has distinguished itself for the performance of pieces that blend the rich and rhythmic Caribbean and Latin American music with Cuban jazz, as well as different genres of Afro-Cuban and international music, according to the release received by Radio Enciclopedia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The members of the group are percussionist Octavio Rodr\u00edguez, Josu\u00e9 Puig on piano, bassist Jos\u00e9 Arnulfo, Roberto Garc\u00eda and Mayquel Gonz\u00e1lez on trumpet, all led by Ruy L\u00f3pez-Nussa on drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maestro L\u00f3pez-Nussa, considered one of the most prestigious Cuban percussionists today, has participated as an instrumentalist in numerous national and international projects and is the author of the book <strong>Ritmos de Cuba<\/strong>, designed for students and lovers of the subject, which has already been published in three editions: 2004.
