On May 25th of this year, the Hilos M\u00e1gicos Puppet Company began several performances of its premiere show De Cuba Soy<\/strong> in the province of Villa Clara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abThe basis of the show is Cuban music, with marionettes, puppets, actors and the animation of all these puppets. The basic purpose is to highlight our culture, the different rhythms and also the different techniques of puppet theater that we use,\u00bb said Carlos Gonz\u00e1lez Sardi\u00f1as, artistic and general director of the company, exclusively to Radio Enciclopedia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This first stage was part of the II Puppetry Day of Santa Clara: Hands, Signs and Dreams<\/strong>, which was held in this city in the center of the country from May 20 to 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is dedicated to the 61st anniversary of the founding of Gui\u00f1ol de Santa Clara, the 55th anniversary of the artistic life of Carlos Gonz\u00e1lez and the 20th anniversary of the founding of Grupo Al\u00e1nimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abSince the end of 1968, we have been creating in the world of puppets, great plays, for girls and boys, for television, show business, cabaret… For a long time, always with puppets, which is my specialty, we have represented Cuba in different countries and we have had the opportunity to be in our island from east to west,\u00bb recalls Gonz\u00e1lez about the just dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this national tour, De Cuba Soy<\/strong> also opened the doors of the Sauto, Papalote and Cardenas theaters in the province of Matanzas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abWe will also be at the Tom\u00e1s Terry Theater in Cienfuegos at the beginning of the summer,\u00bb assured the interviewee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Havana’s children’s audiences will also have another opportunity to experience this play in the coming months, as it was performed on May 20 and 21 at the La Edad de Oro Theater, the CMHM’s headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
