Cinemateca de Cuba presents several cycles in its summer program

The summer program of the Cinemateca de Cuba begins this month of July with several film cycles and popular sagas, with screenings that will be of interest to audiences.

One of them, Cinema and its Audience, includes very popular films such as La Tulipe Noire, La Grande Vadrouille and Las Leandras. The other is a film panorama that brings together films from different latitudes, mainly from the fantasy genre, but also including dramatic films such as An Officer and a Gentleman and some classics such as The Swan and the restored version of Gilda.

In July, another part of Cinemateca’s premiere thriller series will continue, alternating crime films from the 1960s that have never been shown in this Havana movie theater with contemporary productions.

Another reason to have fun this summer is the return of the popular movie sagas that were such a hit with audiences last year. On this occasion, the three installments of Iron Man and the four installments of The Avengers will be screened on Saturdays and Sundays at 14:00.

As usual, the films will be accompanied by restored editions of Noticiero ICAIC Latinoamericano, according to Antonio Mazón Robau, Cinemateca de Cuba’s programmer.

On the other hand, in the Charlot Room of the Charles Chaplin Cinema, the cycles The Universal Monsters Movies in High Definition (HD) and They Disappeared 50 Years Ago have been scheduled, in which filmmakers and performers who died half a century ago will be remembered.
