Selected Pages of José Martí to be Featured at Sábado del Libro

The Cuban Book Institute will host its traditional Sábado del Libro event on August 31, showcasing Páginas escogidas. Tomo I y II. José Martí, a collection published by the Centro de Estudios Martianos that provides a profound insight into the works of José Martí, one of Cuba’s most influential thinkers.

“The reissue of Páginas escogidas de José Martí, an outstanding selection by poet and essayist Roberto Fernández Retamar, addresses the undeniable need to fully disseminate Martí’s thought. The relevance and foresight of his ideas, carefully curated in these volumes, make them an essential reference for anyone eager to explore the many facets of this extraordinary figure’s life and work,” notes the press release from the Communications Department of the Cuban Book Institute.

The presentation will take place on August 31 at 11:00 a.m. on Calle de Madera, between the Museum of the City and the Plaza de Armas, in the heart of Havana’s Historic Center.
