Camerata Cortés, founded by the celebrated Cuban musician José Luis Cortés, known as «El Tosco,» will take the stage this week at the Theater Hall of Havana’s National Museum of Fine Arts, under the baton of maestro Orlando Valle, «Maraca».
The concert is set for October 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cuban Art Building, in celebration of the 21st anniversary of Camerata Cortés. As announced on the ensemble’s official Facebook page, the event will feature a special guest appearance by Argentine quena virtuoso Rodrigo Sosa.
This distinguished flute ensemble, unique in its kind across the country, will also welcome renowned instrumentalist Belinda Guerra as a guest performer for the evening.
Camerata Cortés carries forward the rich musical legacy of José Luis Cortés, who would have turned 73 on October 5. The group is composed of young, talented flutists, all graduates of Cuba’s prestigious art schools.
