Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba and the Second Edition of Ballet Beyond Borders HAVBANA 2025

Following its debut at the Alicia Alonso International Ballet Festival of Havana, Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba is now advancing plans for a major international event that will bring esteemed dance masters and artists to the Cuban capital.

Highly regarded instructors will share their expertise with participants of the second edition of Ballet Beyond Borders (BBB) HAVBANA 2025, scheduled from January 7 to 11, 2025.

Among the invited instructors is Leslie Stevens, who has an impressive Broadway career spanning over 25 years in professional dance, acting, and singing. In addition to performing as a principal and soloist, she has choreographed for notable musicals such as Into the Woods and Hello, Dolly! Leslie maintains strong affiliations with several Los Angeles-based universities, serving as a guest instructor in musical theater repertoire at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and UC Irvine. She is also on the ballet and choreography faculty at AMDA LA (AMDA College of the Performing Arts) and has guest-choreographed for California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in productions such as Cabaret, Ragtime, and Sweeney Todd.

Other distinguished instructors include American Greg Begley, who has extensive experience in professional theater and musical choreography. A former soloist with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, he was personally recruited by Ruth Page to join the Chicago Ballet, performing principal roles. Later, he joined Hubbard Street Dance Chicago as both teacher and dancer, and his teaching résumé includes invitations from various companies, schools, and international events.

Joining from the United States are Roman Baca, Patric Palkens, Louise Hickey, Ming Davis, and Juliette Crump. Additionally, Alina Ciseo and Domsa Radu from Romania will also share their expertise. Brazilian dancer Dandara Veiga and Italian instructors Giovanni Giordano, Marcelo Carini, Gianluca Mascia, and Dominique Claude A. Portier will offer classes as well, with sessions held at the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba studios on January 8, 9, and 10, 2025, during morning and afternoon hours.

The workshops will cover a range of disciplines, including ballet, contemporary, Cuban folklore, Afro-Cuban folklore, jazz, traditional dances from various countries, fusion, and more.

BBB HAVBANA 2025 presents exciting opportunities for attendees, offering master classes led by renowned instructors, choreographers, and dancers from around the world.
