Classic Car Club and Tropicana Cabaret Join Forces for a Unique Event

The first-ever pairing event between classic cars and the Tropicana Cabaret will take place in Havana from February 28 to March 2, celebrating the tradition, culture, and originality of this unique form of entertainment in Cuba.

This sporting, cultural, recreational, and tourist gathering also pays tribute to Tropicana, the iconic Havana cabaret celebrating its 85th anniversary. Over the decades, this legendary venue has hosted some of the most emblematic figures in both national and international culture.

Sponsored by the Cubatur travel agency, Cubadeportes, and the CubaSol group, and organized by Tropicana and the classic car club A lo cubano, the event is open to all enthusiasts. Those interested in participating in the first-ever regularity rally featuring tourists can register at www.losclasicosdecuba.com. The rally will take place on March 1 in the gardens of the Tropicana Cabaret, followed by a classic car parade on Sunday, March 2.

This new rally highlights the connection between the city and its vintage automobiles—manufactured before the 1960s—that continue to bring vibrancy and charm to Havana. These rolling treasures are not only an integral part of the city’s history and culture but also a living heritage that attracts visitors from around the world, eager to witness this unique open-air museum, said Alberto Gutiérrez Alonso, president of A lo cubano.

Gutiérrez Alonso emphasized that strict adherence to traffic laws is a fundamental requirement for the rally. This is not a speed race but rather a competitive event with a recreational and cultural focus.

Competing cars will depart at one-minute intervals, and drivers and co-drivers may switch roles as long as both hold valid driver’s licenses. Before the start, all participants will undergo a medical check-up to assess vital signs. Any driver found to be under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to participate.
