Oratorio San Felipe Neri Honors Dúo Promúsica

The Oratorio San Felipe Neri will host a special tribute this Saturday, March 22, at 4:00 p.m., celebrating the legacy of maestros Alfredo Muñoz and María Victoria del Collado.

According to the institution, the event will feature guest performances by flutists Niurka González and Samdor Ramírez, violinist Desirée Justo, and pianists Malva Rodríguez and María Victoria del Collado.

The gathering will pay homage to Alfredo and Vicky, who devoted their lives to sharing the finest music from across the ages. Their unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting both Cuban and global musical heritage has made them exemplary figures in the field.

As founders of Dúo Promúsica, they have collaborated with distinguished musicians and cultural institutions while also nurturing the next generation of performers.

Their influence extends back to the Trío White, formed at Cuba’s University of the Arts under the guidance of Radosvet Bodayev. Their contributions have left an indelible mark on the history of chamber music in Cuba.

It is impossible to discuss the violin in Cuba without mentioning Muñoz—an impassioned musician who remained a lifelong student of his craft, constantly seeking knowledge and self-improvement with the curiosity and drive of those who remain forever young.

Meanwhile, Del Collado is lauded as an exceptional pianist, renowned for her refined phrasing and expressive sensitivity. Her ability to shape her playing to serve the ensemble reflects the artistry and depth of only the most accomplished and intuitive musicians.
