Orlando Valle “Maraca” and Camerata Cortés Debut Vibrant Music Video

At Havana’s Casa del ALBA Cultural Center, Cuba’s Ministry of Culture, via its Multimedia Center, unveiled the music video Guajira con tumbao, showcasing flutist Orlando Valle, known as “Maraca,” alongside the all-female Camerata Cortés ensemble.
Directed by acclaimed visual artist Alejandro Pérez, the video brings to life a track composed by the renowned duo Piloto and Vera, arranged by Maraca for the ensemble’s distinctive ten-member flute orchestra.
The video features guest performances by virtuoso flutists Niurka González and René Herrera of the iconic Orquesta Aragón. Filmed on a lively Old Havana street, the production captures the joy of local children engaging with the music’s blend of traditional roots and modern flair, as Maraca, serving as director and soloist, described.
Fresh from a cultural exchange in Nigeria, Maraca and Camerata Cortés are now gearing up to record the ensemble’s debut album.
