Dominican Dance Intensive 2026 Welcomes Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba

From Monday, March 23, through Saturday, March 28, the city of Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic will host an event that promises to transform a passion for dance into an unforgettable experience: the Dominican Dance Intensive 2026.

For the first time, two leading figures in international dance—Lizt Alfonso, director of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, and Norma García, director of Ballet Clásico Santiago—will join forces to teach a course for children and young people, according to a press release issued by the Cuban company.

Held at Ballet Clásico Santiago, participants will receive instruction in ballet, fusion dance, flamenco fusion, Latin fusion, and urban dance, led by renowned directors and two guest dancer-instructors from Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, Yaslubia Díaz, and Miguel Ángel Calas.

The program aims to strengthen artistic skills among both amateur and professional dancers aged six and older, divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

The Dominican Dance Intensive 2026 will conclude with a closing gala performance in which participants will showcase what they have learned. “The performance will provide an opportunity to celebrate dance as a way to share knowledge, emotion, and joy,” the statement concludes.
