Casa de las Américas to host the 7th International Colloquium Del Papiro a la Biblioteca Virtual

The 7th International Colloquium Del Papiro a la Biblioteca Virtual (From the Papyrus to the Virtual Library) will be held at Casa de las Américas between Monday 4 and Thursday 7 September. An event organised by the library of the institution will address the difficulties encountered by information professionals in the digital age.
At the meetings of the symposium, taking place completely in the Che Guevara Hall, contributions from specialists, researchers, and professionals in the areas of computer science, librarianship, communication, reading promotion, and community work from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and Mexico will be highlighted.
During the Colloquium, seven keynote speeches will be given on information and communication technologies and their various applications in knowledge management, innovation, digital preservation, and social media in spaces such as libraries and other cultural institutions.
Other topics that will be addressed due to their relevance in the current communication environment are information literacy and the promotion of reading as converting companies, as well as socio-educational inclusion in information centres in Latin America and the Caribbean and their impact on the community.
