Celebrating the Third Anniversary of the Cultural Project La Jeringa

The third anniversary of the cultural project La Jeringa will be marked with a well-deserved space for celebrations, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on February 3.
The event to celebrate the work of this project, founded on January 31, 2020, will take place at Taller Chullima, visual artist Wilfredo Prieto’s studio, located on Calle 6, Nº 905, entre 9 y 11, Playa, Havana.
The activity will kick off with the opening of Gourmet, a two-person exhibition by twins Gabriela and Greta Reyna, which will be open to the public until March 3.
This will be followed by the first physical edition of the magazine La Jeringa, which will introduce brothers Lázaro and César Saave, who will present the performance Conversación sobre Historia del Arte (Conversation on Art History).
The closing concert will be given by Iroyé, a group of nine musicians, including lead singer, three female voices, flute, guitar, piano, bass, congas, minor percussion, drums and timbales.
According to the press release issued by the organizing committee of this tribute, Iroyé defends Cuban music as its foundation, using bolero, pop, songo, timba, funk, and song as genres that converge during the creative process.
As the night progresses, the sounds of traditional and Afro-Cuban culture will arrive through the performances of Cuban DJ Leonardo Milano, a musician and producer with more than twenty years’ experience as an artist.
So far, the journey of La Jeringa is recognized as «discreet but constant and in search of growth,» highlighting the work in the promotion of youth art and the desire of its members to find, in this 2023, a year of evolution and achievement of several of their goals.
