Cubadisco Award 2024 closes its call for entries

The Cuban Institute of Music and the Cubadisco Academic Committee announce the closing of the call for entries for the Cubadisco 2024 Award.

Participation is open to phonographic or audiovisual music productions released by Cuban record companies, Cuban and foreign institutions related to Cuban music, and independent phonographic or audiovisual music productions, as long as they have the support of an institution related to our cultural sphere. Independent means a work that has been produced without the sponsorship of any record company or institution related to our cultural sphere.

The registered productions must be released between 1 January and 31 December 2023. Exceptionally, a production will be accepted which, having been produced in previous years (never before 2017), could not have been released previously. It must not have been submitted, in whole or in part, to any previous edition of this event.

The Cubadisco Award will take into account the quality of the productions submitted to the competition, and not the work, career or relevance within the national music and culture, nor any other merits of the artists whose works are included in these productions, including their popularity and the sales levels of the productions presented.

The deadline for registering works is 31 December 2023.

The registration of works for the competition will take place at the offices of the Cubadisco Prize on the dates established by the Prize Committee and the Executive Group: Calle E no. 356, entre 15 y 17, Vedado, Plaza de la Revolución, La Habana, Cuba. 356, entre 15 y 17, Vedado, Plaza de la Revolución, Havana, Cuba. CP 10400. Telephone: (537) 7837 5722. E-mail: cubadisco@icm.cu and cubadisco.cac@gmail.com

There is also a Cubadisco computer platform where the works and all the necessary information must be entered. Through this platform, the voting members will cast their votes to determine the nominations and awards, using the appropriate voting form. The institutions that submit the works must enter them in the platform, while the Awards Committee will be in charge of certifying them for participation, thus officially validating them in the competition. In areas and contexts where digital voting is not possible, conditions will be created for direct voting.
