Cuban National Folklore Ensemble at the Cuba Va Conmigo Festival

The 2nd Cultural Festival of Cubans Abroad, Cuba va Conmigo, will open on Friday 3 November with a varied show that covers an important part of the expressions that make up popular and traditional Cuban culture.

This inaugural gala will be performed by members of the Cuban National Folklore Ensemble, an emblematic cultural institution that is celebrating six decades since its first performance in the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theatre of Cuba, as announced by Digna Rosa Pérez Morejón, the group’s promoter.

The programme planned for the occasion includes works by the maestro and National Dance Award winner Manolo Micler, who led the company for more than two decades, and Leiván García Valle, the current director of the dance-music group, among other choreographers.

The works on the programme are: Vals para Oshún, Yansa, Coro de Apalencados, Danza de los Apalencados, Mambo, Danzón, Soneando, Echa pa’ca la Rumba and Rumberos.

The performance is scheduled for 20:30 and tickets will be on sale from 1 November at the Paseo Coliseum box office, in the Vedado district of the capital.
