Encuentro 4 con 60, a meeting on architecture in Cuba, has been announced

The National Association of Architects and Civil Engineers of Cuba (Unaicc) has announced the Encuentro 4 con 60, to be held on 29 and 30 September at the Pabellón Cuba and the Habana Libre Hotel.
The event is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the 7th Congress of the International Association of Architects (UIA).
This event, which took place in Havana in 1963, was preceded by the First International Meeting of Professors and Students of Architecture, which was held outside Europe for the first time and discussed issues related to architecture in developing countries.
At the same time, Havana’s La Rampa was revived and the Pabellón Cuba was built. Subsequently, other meetings were organised and the fiftieth anniversary of this event was celebrated.
On this occasion, the programme will include conferences, exhibitions and documentaries, as well as the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the Pabellón Cuba and the launch of the La Rampa competition.
It is also expected that the meeting will serve to reflect on the current situation of architecture, urbanism and the teaching of this discipline in Cuba. It will be open to associate and non-associate members of the Unaicc, retired professors and students.
