Galería Galiano to Present the 11th Edition of the Post-it Contemporary Cuban Art Competition

On Friday, September 20, at 6:00 p.m., the Galiano Gallery of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets will host the opening of the 11th edition of the Post-it Contemporary Art Competition.

This event has established itself as a key platform for showcasing the artistic creations of emerging Cuban talents. This year’s competition will feature 17 selected works out of a total of 94 submissions, according to the Art Galleries Management of Collage Habana, part of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets.

A distinguished jury, led by curator and art critic Darys Vázquez Aguiar, was responsible for selecting the pieces that best represent the diversity and vibrancy of contemporary Cuban art. The selected works encompass a wide range of media, including video art, sculpture, photography, and installation.

However, the jury also noted challenges faced by young creators today, such as the need for deeper conceptual exploration and the pursuit of more original artistic languages.

The award ceremony will take place on October 31, when the winners of this year’s competition will be announced.
