Havana to Host First International Urban Art Gathering

Under the name GENERARTE, with a special focus on women’s empowerment and gender equity, the First International Urban Art Gathering will take place in Havana from April 8 to 15, 2025.
Sponsored by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the event will bring together artists, collectives, and thinkers from around five countries, aiming to transform public spaces into canvases for dialogue and creativity.
«Havana will become an open-air museum, where muralists, graffiti artists, performers, and creators from various disciplines will take over public spaces in El Vedado, Centro Habana, and La Víbora—the latter serving as the event’s main venue,» states an official press release.
It has also been announced that the event’s primary organizer is Arte.92, a community-based visual arts project dedicated to revitalizing the cultural scene in the Diez de Octubre district of Havana.
Local collectives will contribute to the event by organizing collaborative mural exhibitions, free workshops for young artists and community members, interactive performances, and live tattoo demonstrations.
Additionally, the Havana Provincial Department of Culture will support the initiative by hosting forums on art, identity, and urban sustainability with a gender-focused approach, as well as interactive activities for children and live music performances.
