Libro a la carta will host writer and journalist Reinier del Pino Cejas

Journalist and writer Reinier del Pino Cejas will be the featured guest of the cultural program Libro a la carta in its upcoming edition, to be held on Thursday, January 22, at 3:00 p.m., at the Fayad Jamís Bookstore in Old Havana.

A graduate in Accounting and Finance, Del Pino Cejas works as a journalist, scriptwriter, and announcer at Radio Artemisa and the television channel Artemisa Visión. He is the author of several books, including the children’s poetry collection Por los valles de mis sueños (2021), the narrative work Karma (2022), and the science fiction booklet Siete días sin Yrla (2023), all published by Editorial Unicornio. Also published in 2021 was the poetry collection Canto a nuestra América, co-written with Spanish journalist Martín Oller Alonso.

Del Pino Cejas is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the Union of Journalists of Cuba, and the Union of Historians of Cuba. He is also part of the National Group of Rural Writers, the Proyecto Cultural Sur, and the Café Naranjo Group.

His work has appeared in periodicals and anthologies in Cuba, Spain, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Uruguay. Over the course of his career, he has received awards and honorable mentions in genres such as poetry, narrative, essay, and theater at competitions in several countries.

The event is open to all those interested in learning more about the career and body of work of one of Cuba’s contemporary authors with a presence across multiple genres and media.

Libro a la carta, a long-running cultural program based at the bookstore located on calle Obispo, entre Cuba y Aguiar, in el Centro Histórico habanero, has been hosted for 25 years by journalist and critic Fernando Rodríguez Sosa. The program seeks to promote dialogue with Cuban writers whose works contribute to the nation’s contemporary literature.
