Lizt Alfonso Issues a New Invitation to Prove That Bailar no tiene edad

As promised by Maestro Lizt Alfonso, the second edition of the open event Bailar no tiene edad will return to the main hall of Malecón Art 255 on March 4th. She warmly invites grandparents and their companions of any generation to “savor” a variety of rhythms from Cuban and global music. Just like the first event, attendees will have the chance to follow the steps of Maestro Lizt, the driving force behind this initiative and director of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC).

The gathering will take place at one of the company’s venues, Malecón Art 255, located on the iconic Malecón avenue, just steps from Calle Galeano, on Tuesday, March 4th, at 10:00 a.m. Cha-cha-cha, mambo, rumba, salsa, and urban genres, among others, will set the pace for the dancers.

Maestro Lizt will be joined by LADC artists and instructors—such as Juan Carlos Haza, Miguel Ángel Díaz, and Rocío Vázquez—who lead cultural projects in this stunning Havana building. These young talents quickly won over the hearts of grandparents during the first session with their overflowing charisma and kindness, qualities that shine through even in their dance moves.

This initiative was born as a tribute to family, to the power of art, and especially to dance as a way to uplift spirits, give thanks for life, and share joy. Style, genre, rhythm, or age—no matter the differences, all are welcome. There’s no need to register or pay a fee. “We owe everything to our grandparents,” Lizt says, dedicating this event especially to them as an opportunity to have fun, dust off memories, refresh skills, keep learning, and create new family moments together.
