Soprano Dayri Llanes will perform at the Hispanic-American Centre of Culture

The Hispanic-American Centre of Culture, of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, will host this Friday 16 August the performance of soprano Dayri Llanes.

The concert will include excerpts from operas, zarzuelas and operettas by composers such as Handel, Gounod, Delibes, Kalman, Lehár, Alonso, Sorozábal, Barbieri and Moreno Torroba, and will close with a section dedicated to Giacomo Puccini, the Italian composer whose centenary we are commemorating, according to a Facebook post by Ubail Zamora, a specialist at the Havana institution.

Dayri Llanes will feature sopranos Cristina Rodríguez, Lucía Llanes and Thalía Raña; countertenor Ubail Zamora; tenors Israel González, César Vázquez and Yubal Caleb Peña, and baritones Reinaldo Cobas and Anmel Morales. All of them will be accompanied on piano by maestros Ivón Rivero and Edel Almeida.

This show is dedicated to the recently deceased baritone Pedro Arias Domínguez. The event will take place at 5:00 p.m. at the well-known Las Cariátides building, on Malecón, número 17, entre Prado y Capdevila.
